Stephen Shore: Uncommon Places - The Complete Works is the most classic masterpiece of Stephen Shore, an American master of contemporary photography, and also lays the foundation for new color photography. (New Color Photography) a landmark work of historical status. This book was first published (and reprinted many times) by Aperture, a well-known art publishing house, in 2004. It fully includes the ordinary daily life and American landscape captured by Shore using a large camera during his road trip across the United States in the 1970s.

The core values and characteristics of the photography collection

This photo collection has profoundly influenced the concept of documentary photography and color photography in later generations:

Accurate depth of field of large-scale cameras: Shore gave up the convenient 35mm camera and changed to an 8x10 large-scale camera to calmly record the streets, gas stations, restaurants and hotel rooms in the United States with extremely high clarity and rich details.

Extraordinary perspective of ordinary places: Unlike traditional magnificent landscape photos, Shore focuses on "Uncommon Places" in American highway culture, transforming trash cans, zebra crossings and plain buildings into rigorous visual composition.

The art legalization of color photography: Before the 1970s, color film was generally considered only for advertising and home entertainment. Shore broke this prejudice with William Eggleston and others and pushed color photography into the hall of the art museum.
