"A1 - The Great North Road" is Paul Graham's first self-published work in 1983, and it is also the first book in the history of British photography that combines traditional social documentary with new color photography (New Co Lour) combined with a collection of epoch-making color photographs. The work records the declining industrial landscape and people along the A1 highway running through the north and south of Britain in the early days of Mrs. Dazzle's rule in the 1980s.
